I really think this recipe came off of the Kisses package, but I have made some modifications and my family loves them, so I’m sharing. Ellen
Ingredients
48 (one 10 oz. bag has about 60 Kisses) unwrapped Kisses. The recipe calls for the candy cane ones, but it is especially good if you use any of the Kisses that have soft centers like truffle, mint truffle, or caramel.
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking SODA
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons milk
Red and/or green food coloring
Directions
Beat (cream) together butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla until well blended. Add a few drops of your desired food coloring color now and mix in well.
In separate bowl, stir together flour, baking SODA, and salt; add alternately with milk to butter mixture, beating until well blended.
Shape dough into one inch balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet–I really like to line my pans with parchment paper for these, although they don’t spread out much.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies look set in a pre-heated 350 degree oven.
Remove cookies from oven and gently press a Kiss into each cookie. Do this gently! You don’t have to press far or the cookies will crack.
Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack to cool.
Yield: about 4 dozen cookies.
