The Anti-Stay-At-Home Life With Kids

We have spent many years living under the title of Stay-At-Home Moms. SAHMs if you will. But today we are here to once and for all cry bullshotskies on that title because we are NEVER home. Seriously. It would make more sense for us to sell our homes and just rove the countryside in RVs. Bonus? We’d never have to use a nasty soccer field port-a-pot again. (You know that idea is so intriguing you want to Google recreational vehicles right this minute.)

Most of this roving is because of the ordinary – sports practices, school plays, haircuts, and dentist appointments. But sometimes the Anti-Stay-At-Home life is a slice of pure adventurous pleasure. Where adventure is concerned, a picture is often worth a thousand words. (Especially when you are recovering from an epic blog conference.)

The Anti-Stay-At-Home-Life With Kids

Just add water . . .

In The Pool

Ellen’s Backyard

Tubing On The River

Gunpowder Falls (Relax, no one shot over a waterfall in a tube.)

In The Canoe

Pocomoke State Park

On The Lake

Deep Creek Lake

On The Rocks

Jane’s Island State Park

Or take it to the air . . .

Parasail

Bahamas

Rock Climbing

The Delaware Rock Gym

But there are adventures galore on land too.

On The Road

Lost on the road, Anywhere State Park

The Abandoned Mine

Deep Creek Lake State Park

On The Road

Assateague Island, Maryland

Fire!

New Germany State Park

Thank you to Stasha at Monday Listicles for inspiring us to remember that while we were blessed to choose the stay-at-home life for many years, how we “stay” at home is purely up to us.

love the photos and your explanation of your life with kids. I was a SAHM for one year when laid off, I didn’t like it. I wasn’t meant to be a SAHM…I stunk at it…perhaps if money wasn’t an issue at the time I could have enjoyed it more. I give you ladies credit for all that you do with your kids…

You guys have so much fun! And yes, the home part of the stay-at-home gig is a bit of a joke. I have to stop telling people I am home a lot because it’s a big fat lie. In all honesty, I could use a personal assistant to handle my schedule!!

I don’t know, I think you really missed making a fortune with your summer camp!! Lol! Wow you guys are busy!! I always thought it was a bit misnomer to call ourselves “Stay-at-Home-Moms.” And I too am very grateful that I get to stay home with my children. Thanks for always making me laugh!!

You girls amaze me!! I don’t know how you do it, and keep your right mind. Women from my day never did what you girls do. Are you sure that you don’t wear capes with SM on the back?
    Super Moms it is!!

When I grow up I want to be like you! I am only 70, how much longer do I have to wait?

    LOVE YOU, Aunt Karo

I was literally the never Leave Home SAHM for 2 years because we only had one vehicle, which hubby needed for work. we still have only one vehicle, but at least he found someone to commute with half the time so I can can get a chance to escape…I mean, go seek out wonderful adventure.
I’d like to start with spending a summer with you. you do have the Kids Club program with 24 hour babysitters, right?

Love these photos ladies. I will admit, right now I’m a ABHMEFNT.
Anywhere but home mom except for nap time – the baby needs her crib still. I look forward to a time we’re out all day again.

I have always wanted to go to Assateague Island! I was horse crazy when I was little and read everything I could about horses!

I definitely feel like an anti-stay-at-home mom this summer! So glad I was able to meet both of you at BlogHer!
